Private Hot Tub, Sauna & Cold Plunge
Your own spa deck, a few steps from the back door, private to the cottage for your whole stay.
A Proper Spa Evening, Without Leaving The Cottage
Most holiday cottages in North Yorkshire stop at a hot tub. Ours has the full hot and cold circuit you'd usually pay for by the hour at a spa: a cedar barrel sauna, a cedar cold plunge tub and a hot tub, all together on a covered deck that looks out over the garden.
Nobody else uses it. The deck is private to the cottage, so you can go round as many times as you like, at whatever time suits you.
How Guests Use It
- Switch the sauna on about 20 minutes before you want it.
- Warm up in the sauna until you've had enough.
- Step straight into the cold plunge for as long as you can manage.
- Sink into the hot tub and let everything settle.
- Repeat, then dinner off the BBQ.

Cedar Sauna
A traditional barrel sauna built onto the deck. It runs on a timer on the outside wall and takes around 20 minutes to warm up.

Cold Plunge Tub
A cedar tub of cold water a step away from the sauna door. Short, sharp and very awake.

Hot Tub
Controls on the side panel for lighting and two jet settings, press once for moderate and twice for intense.

The Deck, Rain Or Shine
The deck is covered by an electric awning you can stop at any length with the remote. It has a built-in wind sensor and closes itself if the weather turns.
There's a dining table, lounge seating and a gas BBQ, with utensils and a lighter in the kitchen drawers. Fairy lights come on at dusk, which is when the deck looks its best.
